Saudi Roshan League: Al-Akhdoud Seeks Redemption Against Damac
The First Groove football team, Al-Akhdoud, is set to host Damac in the third round of the Saudi Roshan League on Friday in Khamis Mushai. Following a two-week break, Al-Akhdoud aims to correct its record and secure its first win of the season.
Damac, with no points from two defeats, faces a similar situation as its visitors. Both teams have suffered losses at the hands of defending champions Al-Hilal. Damac was defeated by Al-Khaliz, while Al-Akhdoud lost to Al-Ittifaq.
In their previous league encounters last season, Damac, led by Romanian coach Cosmin Contra, secured victories against Al-Akhdoud with scores of 2-0 and 2-1. However, Al-Akhdoud has undergone a coaching staff change and is now under the guidance of Croatian coach Stepan Thomas.
Both teams have reinstated several foreign international players who have represented their countries. The decision to participate in the upcoming match rests with the technical staff of both teams. Notably, Damac’s foreign players participated in the second-round match against Al-Nasr, while Al-Akhdoud has signed new foreign players, including Brazilian midfielder Petros Araujo, who is set to make his debut.
