The county announced on the 27th that the 16th Taean County Sports Festival will be held on October 5th at the Taean Sports Complex and each sport stadium, with residents from eight towns and villages and residents of the county participating.

The county sports competition, held every other year, is hosted and organized by the Taean-gun Sports Association and each sports organization and sponsored by Taean-gun and the Taean-gun Council. A total of 680 athletes are expected to compete fiercely in 11 sports, including gateball, volleyball, wrestling, soccer, table tennis, tennis, and golf.

An opening ceremony will be held at Taean Sports Complex starting at 9:30 a.m. with the entry of the competition flags and athletes, and then from 11 a.m., games will be held at the stadiums for each sport with the support of residents.

Afterwards, a town/village singing contest and performances by invited singers such as Kim Yeon-ja and Dang Chan will be held at Taean Sports Complex starting at 3 p.m., and the grand finale will end with the announcement of grades and awards at 5 p.m.

In particular, this competition will feature exhibition matches by the Taean County Office Ssireum Team at Taean Sports Complex, preliminary and finals of Ssireum events, recreation of the Cheongbaekjeon match between towns and villages, and Eoreumsani tightrope walking performances, etc., so that even older people who do not participate as athletes can enjoy various events. It is expected that it will be possible.
