Samulnori Master Kim Deok-su Shares Traditional Korean Music with Swedish Students
(Brussels=Yonhap News) Correspondent Jeong Bit-na = The Korean Cultural Center in Sweden announced that Samulnori master Kim Deok-su held a ‘Janggu Master Class’ at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music on the 19th (local time).
At an event planned to promote traditional Korean music, he gave explanations and practice on Korean samulnori, including the janggu, to percussion students at the Royal Academy of Music.
The Cultural Center is also planning to hold a ‘National Day Ensemble Sinawi Concert’ on the 20th.
Lee Kyung-jae, director of the Cultural Center, said, “We will continue to plan events that introduce more diverse aspects of Korean culture in cooperation with local organizations.”
