Riis Jakobsen: Bristol City Sign Midfielder

Forward, Emil Riis Jakobsen has joined Bristol City on a free transfer from Preston North End. 

Riis Jakobsen had spent the last five seasons at Preston where he scored 46 goals in 186 appearances for the Lilywhites, but decided to leave the club at the end of his current contract.

Last season’s losing Championship Play-Off semi-finalists, Bristol City subsequently swooped for the Dane on a three-year contract until June 2028.

The 27-year-old is excited about his latest opportunity with the Robins and has vowed to try and help the team by delivering goals.

“It is an exciting club with some young players in the squad with a lot of potential.

“It is a club which has the right ambitions for me, so I am very happy to be here and hopefully I can be a part of the dream to go to the next level.

“I want to score goals and help the team in that way.”

Technical Director, Brian Tinnion added: “It is no secret how in demand Emil was, and we are very pleased to have secured his signature.

“He provides us with extra fire power and is very experienced in the Championship and we cannot wait to see him in action.”

Riis Jakobsen is the Robins’ third signing under new manager, Gerhard Struber after Adam Randell and Joe Lumley had signed for the club since the Austrian’s arrival.
