Ring in the New Year with a Touch of Elegance: Mathieu Ganio Special Gala New Year’s Concert to Feature Takarazuka Revue’s Kamitsu Yuzu and More

Paris Opera Ballet Etoile Mathieu Ganiot’s performance in Japan will be held in Osaka, Aichi, and Tokyo in January 2025.

For 20 years, Mathieu Ganio has reigned as a member of the Paris Opera Ballet Etoile, and has remained one of the most popular figures in Japan, leading the ballet world.

Now, with his Adieu performance scheduled for next spring, it has been decided at short notice that a special gala will be held to celebrate Mathieu Ganiot’s new beginning.

This performance will bring together top dancers from around the world. Kamitsu Yuzu, former top star of the Takarazuka Revue Hanagumi, will perform a new duet directed and choreographed by Yuka Oishi and others, along with Mathieu Ganiot.

In addition, Tokyo Ballet guest principal Mizuka Ueno will perform an exquisite duet with Mathieu Ganiot as a special guest. Furthermore, Amandine Albisson of the Paris Opera Ballet Etoile will perform a beautiful pas de deux in the style of the Paris Opera.

I’m very happy to be able to return to Japan less than a year after my performance at the Paris Opera.
We are pleased to be able to offer a slightly different program in collaboration with artists from the Takarazuka Revue. I am looking forward to creating a special program work with Kamitsu Yuzu!
I am hopeful that I may be able to bring out a new side of myself through my new work.
I’m happy to be able to perform the pas de deux in Japan with Amandine Albisson.
Also, I will finally be able to stand on stage with Mizuka Ueno. We’ve always kept in touch and I’m looking forward to working together this time.
For me, it will be an intense time where artists with strong personalities and different worldviews will gather together.

This season is special and important to me.
Because this is my last season as a dancer at the Paris Opera.
While I am excited to be able to celebrate my final moments surrounded by the beautiful members of the company who have been like home and family for so long, I also feel sad.
I want to remember and enjoy every moment.
