Riquelme Injury Similar to Alexsander and André’s at Fluminense
Fluminense Suffers Major Setback with Riquelme felipe Injury
The Tricolor team faces challenges as key player Riquelme Felipe sustains a knee injury.
Fluminense has encountered a notable setback as Riquelme Felipe, a prominent player who emerged with distinction in the Campeonato Carioca, suffered a Grade 2 injury to the medial collateral ligament of his left knee. This injury sidelines him for upcoming games, impacting the team’s dynamics.

In a social media post, the attacker expressed gratitude for the messages of support and indicated he could be out for up to three months. Fortunately, he will not require surgery. The nature of Riquelme’s injury is similar to those previously experienced by André and Alexsander during their time with Flu.

Fluminense Opts for Conservative Treatment
Due to the injury, Riquelme Felipe is expected to be sidelined for at least two months. This approach mirrors past treatments for similar injuries within the team.
Alexsander suffered a medial collateral ligament injury to his left knee in May 2023, during what was considered his peak performance with Fluminense. The midfielder was injured in a victory over cruzeiro at Mineirão. Initially, there were concerns about the need for surgery, but examinations revealed only a sprain without ligament rupture, allowing for conservative treatment. The same course of action is being applied to the young attacker.
At the time, Alexsander was expected to be out for a month and a half, but he suffered another injury during the final stages of recovery while transitioning on the field. This was a Grade 3 injury (the most severe) to his right thigh, which ultimately kept him sidelined for 101 days.

André’s Injury Last Year
In April 2024, André also suffered a knee injury during a draw with Cerro Porteño (PAR) in the third round of the group stage of the Libertadores.
The midfielder sustained a medial collateral ligament injury to his right knee, resulting in 70 days of inactivity.
