International Events in Faso: Cycling Tour and Crafts Fair
On Friday, October 25, 2024, two significant international events kicked off in Faso: the 35th edition of the Faso International Cycling Tour and the 17th Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair. Both events are expected to last at least a week.
Faso International Cycling Tour
The International Cycle Tour of Faso will cover 10 regions out of the 13 in the country, spanning a distance of 2,233.6 kilometers. The tour will feature bivouacs between two distances in several locations. Eleven teams from nine countries, including Mali, Benin, Morocco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Russia, and Ghana, are participating in this celebration of cycling.
Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair
The Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair is expected to attract over 3,500 exhibitors, 30 participating countries, 350,000 general public visitors, 4,000 exhibitors, and 50 buyers and professional visitors. This event has transformed Ouagadougou into a vibrant African craft market.
A Symbol of Resilience
Hosting the International Cycle Tour of Faso and the International Crafts Fair of Ouagadougou simultaneously, despite the challenges posed by armed terrorist groups, is a testament to the resilience and determination of the people of Burkina Faso. Under the leadership of President Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the country is standing strong against terrorism.
Living with Uncertainty
Terrorism is a new phenomenon that the people of Burkina Faso are facing with courage and determination. Just as they have overcome other challenges in the past, such as AIDS, the Corona virus disease, organized crime, and famine, they will continue to fight against terrorism.
