On the evening of September 5, Beijing time, the bronze medal battle of wheelchair tennis at the Paris Paralympic Games was staged. Wang Ziying, a girl from Dazhou, Sichuan, and Guo Luoyao from Beijing defeated their teammates Zhu Zhenzhen and Li Xiaohui to win the bronze medal. This created the best record in the history of Chinese wheelchair tennis women’s doubles at the Paralympic Games.
In 2008, Sichuan planned to establish a disabled tennis team. Wang Ziying was born in Tongchuan District, Dazhou City in 1998. At that time, the Dazhou Disabled Persons’ Federation recommended her to Sichuan Sports University when she was less than 11 years old. “During the selection, the examiner asked me to show my specialties. I can’t do anything except swimming.” At that time, Wang Ziying was swimming happily in the swimming pool and was spotted by the coach at first sight. Since then, she has been associated with wheelchair tennis. This year, Wang Ziying also won the Wheelchair Tennis Team World Cup with the Chinese Women’s Wheelchair Tennis Team, defeating the top seeded Dutch team 2-0.
Wang Ziying said that she was very happy to win the medal, but she has already put her focus on the next game. It is reported that at 18:00 Beijing time on September 6, Wang Ziying will participate in the women’s singles bronze medal match of wheelchair tennis, and her opponent is Vancourt Anik from the Netherlands.
