BTS’ RM Makes Waves on Global Charts with Featured Song
BTS’ RM has once again hit the global charts with a featured song. On the 16th (local time), Billboard, an American music media outlet, announced through its official X (formerly Twitter) that American rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s new song ‘Neva Play (feat. RM)’ featuring RM entered the main song chart Hot 100 at number 36 as of the 21st.
This is RM’s highest ranking solo song and his second entry into the Hot 100, following “Wildflower Play (with Jo Yoo-jin)”, the title track of his first solo album “Indigo.”
‘Neva Play (feat. RM)’ is proving RM’s popularity by topping various global charts. The song made a new entry into the UK Official Singles Chart on the 13th at No. 66, and ranked 3rd in Single Downloads, 4th in Single Sales, and 16th in Hip-Hop and R&B Singles. It debuted at No. 15 on the latest Weekly Top Songs from the 6th to the 12th announced by Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, and ranked 47th on the Daily Top Song Global for the 15th. It entered the latest Weekly Digital Single Rankings from the 2nd to the 8th announced by Japan’s Oricon at No. 27.
‘Neva Play (feat. RM)’ is a hip-hop genre song characterized by addictive beats. Megan Thee Stallion’s flashy rapping and RM’s deep, charismatic voice are in harmony. The music video, which depicts the two’s actions in animation, is also a masterpiece.
