Filmmakers Rob and Michele Reiner Found Dead in Apparent Stabbing
Director Rob Reiner and his wife, producer Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025, apparently from stab wounds, according to a source close to teh family NBC News reported.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” a statement from their loved ones shared with Variety read. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
Who Were Rob and michele Reiner?
Rob Reiner, 78, was a celebrated director known for iconic films including The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, A Few Good Men, and the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. Michele Singer Reiner, 68, was a producer who met Rob during the production of When Harry Met Sally.
The couple married in 1989 and had three children together: Jake Reiner, Nick Reiner, and Romy Reiner. Rob Reiner also has a daughter, tracy Reiner, from his previous marriage to director Penny Marshall, which lasted from 1971 to 1981.
