Director Rob Reiner ‍and his wife, producer Michele‍ Singer Reiner, were found dead at their Brentwood, ‍Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025, apparently from stab wounds, according to a source close ‍to⁢ teh family NBC News‍ reported.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” a statement from their loved ​ones shared⁢ with Variety read. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

Who Were ‌Rob and michele Reiner?

Rob Reiner, 78, was a ​celebrated director known for iconic films including The Princess Bride, Stand ⁣By Me, A Few Good⁢ Men, and the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. Michele Singer Reiner,‌ 68, was a producer who met Rob during the production of When ‍Harry Met Sally.

The couple married⁤ in 1989 and had three children together: Jake Reiner, Nick Reiner, and Romy Reiner. Rob Reiner also has a daughter,‍ tracy Reiner, from his previous marriage‍ to director Penny Marshall, which lasted from 1971 to ⁢1981.
