Former Wisconsin Badgers reserve forward Jack Robison has committed to North Dakota State University. Robison announced the decision on April 15, 2026, via social media, marking the first of four departing Wisconsin transfers to secure a new destination for the upcoming season.

The 6-foot-6 wing joins the Bison, who are the reigning Summit League champions. Robison enters the program with two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining.

Collegiate Career at Wisconsin

A native of Lakeville, Minnesota, Robison was a three-star recruit who chose the University of Wisconsin over scholarship offers from Nebraska, South Florida and Minnesota. During his time in Madison, he played two seasons and appeared in 30 games.

His role with the Badgers was limited, totaling 48 minutes of play and scoring 23 career points. As a sophomore, he averaged 1.8 minutes per game. One of his most productive outings occurred on December 30, when he scored six points against UW-Milwaukee, converting three of four field goal attempts.

Robison was high school teammates with Nolan Winter, who has played three seasons with the Badgers.

Transition to North Dakota State

Robison officially entered the transfer portal on March 24, 2026. In his social media announcement on April 15, he signaled the move to the Fargo-based program with the message, Next Chapter!!🟡🟢 @NDSUmbb.

He joins a North Dakota State program that has established itself as a mid-major power. The Bison are coming off a season that included a 27-win overall record and the Summit League championship title.

The program’s recent success is highlighted by a historic run in early 2026. On March 4, 2026, the NDSU men’s basketball team entered the Summit League Tournament as the No. 1 seed. This followed a victory over the University of North Dakota on February 28, where the Bison won 96-63, setting a regular season win record and a record attendance of 5,426 at Scheel’s Arena.

The Bison’s success has been led by head coach David Richman, who has been named Summit League Coach of the Year twice. Other key contributors to the program include All-Summit League first-team player Trevian Carson, second-team selection Damari Wheeler-Thomas, and Sixth Man of the Year Noah Feddersen.

Wisconsin Transfer Outlook

Robison is the first of four Wisconsin transfer losses to announce a new school. The remaining three players in the portal include:

  • Star guard John Blackwell, who has narrowed his list of potential schools to Alabama, Arizona, Duke, Illinois, Louisville, and UCLA.
  • Starting forward Aleksas Bieliauskas.
  • Reserve forward Riccardo Greppi.
