Shanghai-based HelloBike, in collaboration with Ant Group and CATL, is entering the robotaxi market with a significant investment. The companies are investing over 3 billion yuan, or about $417 million, into the project. The goal is to create a green and intelligent mobility ecosystem.
HelloBike, officially known as Hello TransTech, was founded in 2016 by Han Mei, Jiang Wei, li Kaizhu, and Yang Lei. The company initially focused on bike-sharing. After Youon Bike acquired it in 2017,HelloBike expanded into e-bikes,carpooling,and ride-hailing. This expansion laid the groundwork for its current robotaxi ambitions.
