End of an Era‌ for⁢ the ‌Band ⁢sim

⁢ ‍ Harmonix has announced that Rock Band 4 will be delisted from the PlayStation and Xbox digital storefronts on October⁣ 5,2025,marking the game’s tenth anniversary. ‍This‌ decision stems from the ⁤expiration of licensing agreements⁣ for the game’s core soundtrack.

Kyle Wynn, community ‌manager at Harmonix, confirmed the delisting‌ in a message ‌posted to the ⁣game’s Discord community (as reported by Video Games Chronicle).

What This ⁢Means for Owners

‌ Players who ⁤already own Rock Band 4 will retain full access to⁤ the game and all previously purchased‌ downloadable content ⁤(DLC). Harmonix assures players thay will be able to download⁣ the‌ game and⁣ their songs to compatible devices, even after the⁤ delisting.

‍ DLC ‌songs will also be removed as their individual 10-year licensing‌ periods expire, but any songs purchased before their‌ removal will remain accessible in players’ libraries.
‌

A⁣ Long‌ Run for Rock Band

This declaration follows Harmonix’s decision to end‍ new Rock Band DLC releases in January 2024, after 16 years of content ‌support, as noted by‌ GamesIndustry.biz.

‌Wynn expressed gratitude for the community’s ⁢passion, highlighting the game’s “deep⁣ DLC library and a⁢ best in class ⁢band sim.”

‌ ⁤ Players interested in purchasing additional⁤ songs are ⁤encouraged to do ‍so⁣ before the‌ delisting ⁢date ‌of October 5, 2025.
