Rocket Rain: 55 Missiles Unleashed from Lebanon, Slamming into Northern Israel’s Upper Galilee
Israeli Army Reports Missile Attacks from Lebanon
The Israeli army announced on Saturday morning that it had observed approximately 55 missiles fired from Lebanon in the Upper Galilee region, resulting in no casualties.
In a statement, the Israeli army reported that “about 35 missiles were detected from the Lebanese territory” between 8:59-9:01, with some intercepted and the rest falling in open areas.
Additionally, the army stated that “following the warning activated at 8:17 in the Galilee region, about 20 missiles were detected from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted and the rest landed in the open, without any casualties.”
Hezbollah’s Missile Attacks
According to the Israeli newspaper “Maariv”, Hezbollah fired approximately 20 missiles at the village of Akbara and the city of Safed on Saturday morning.
The newspaper also reported that the northern Israeli city of Safed witnessed the fall of 5 missiles fired from Lebanon on Friday night.
Hezbollah has been working to increase the range of its missiles and their concentration in areas near Safed, Rosh Pina, Hatzor Haglilit, and Amiyad Junction in the Upper Galilee.
Israeli Response
The Israeli army bombed a missile launching pad in southern Lebanon with drones targeting the Galilee region on Saturday morning.
The army also bombed a military building in Kafr Rumman and attacked several areas in southern Lebanon with artillery fire.
Escalating Tensions
There has been a noticeable increase in mutual bombing on both sides of the Israeli-Lebanese border, coinciding with Israeli threats to launch a ground war against Lebanon despite regional and international warnings.
Lebanese and Palestinian groups in Lebanon, especially Hezbollah, have carried out daily bombings with the Israeli army across the dividing “Blue Line”, resulting in hundreds of casualties, mostly on the Lebanese side.
These groups are demanding an end to the American-backed war waged by Israel in the Gaza Strip, which has left over 136,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing.
