A 29-year-old Rockville man was killed on April 7, 2026, following a motorcycle collision with a Tesla in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

The Montgomery County Department of Police identified the victim as Daniel Arthur Leone IV. According to investigators, the crash occurred around 6:14 a.m. Near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Manor Road.

Details of the Collision

Police reports indicate that a gray 2026 Tesla Model Y was attempting to make a left turn from southbound Connecticut Avenue onto eastbound Manor Road. During this maneuver, the vehicle was struck by a red 2015 BMW S1000 motorcycle that was traveling northbound on Connecticut Avenue.

Emergency responders from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service and police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the collision. Leone was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Tesla, identified as an adult woman, remained at the scene after the accident. She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Investigation and Aftermath

The Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. Fire officials noted that the incident resulted in traumatic injuries and required the closure of lanes along Connecticut Avenue.

Authorities stated that the investigation remains active and could take several weeks or months to complete.
