Rod Stewart begged for Longer Glastonbury 2025 Set, Reveals Rider
Rod Stewart has revealed he requested a longer performance slot for his glastonbury 2025 appearance. He also shared details about his backstage rider and pre-show rituals.
stewart confirmed he will reunite with Ronnie Wood, his former bandmate from Faces and guitarist for the Rolling Stones, onstage at Glastonbury in 2025.
In an interview with the Radio Times, Stewart said organizers initially allotted him a shorter set. ”It’s arduous because they only gave me an hour-and-a-quarter slot. So I begged them: can I do another 15 minutes? Because usually I play for two hours,” Stewart said.
Stewart also teased the appearance of two additional surprise guests, besides Wood, during his set, which is scheduled between 3:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
“It means that there’s a lot of songs that people love that I won’t be able to play – and I’ve got three guests coming on,” he said.
Regarding his rider, Stewart said, “I looked at it the other day and I thought, what is all this stuff doing here?” He added, “One thing I do love is a drink. all I need is a few bottles of wine and some crisps, and that’s it.”
Stewart also noted the excess of food, saying, “No hummus, but big piles of bananas and apples! And when you think the whole world’s bloody starving. I gotta do something about that. Thank you for reminding me.”
Stewart said his band requests their own booze, while he sticks to rum and Coke as a pre-show “gargle” he’s enjoyed for 40 years. “I never drink it any other time… The vocal cords need a lot of looking after. I mean, they’re absolute gold.”
He also described his vocal preparation: “I warm up for an hour, warm down for half an hour. And when I feel I’m losing my voice, I go into what they call ‘voice rest’ and wear a little card around my neck that says ‘I can’t talk. don’t talk to me.’ And it’s remarkable how your voice will come back.”
Stewart’s Glastonbury 2025 appearance follows a recent cancellation of Las Vegas shows due to illness. He later updated fans, saying he was recovering from the flu.
Other Glastonbury 2025 rumors include a possible secret set by Pulp, marking 30 years since their 1995 Pyramid Stage performance. Lewis Capaldi is also reportedly set to appear, and Lorde may open the Woodsies stage.
