Rodri’s Absence Exposes City’s Soft Underbelly: Can Guardiola Find a Solution to Save Their Season
Pep Guardiola Provides Update on Rodri’s Injury
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has shared an update on the injury of Rodri, the team’s talented midfielder, emphasizing the need to find a solution for playing without him.
Rodri, a midfielder for the Spanish national team, suffered an injury during the English Premier League game where Manchester City tied with Arsenal 2-2. He has yet to play in the Carabao Cup match where Watford were defeated 2-1 on September 24.
In a recent interview, Pep Guardiola discussed Rodri’s condition, stating:
“We still don’t have clarity. It may be a long break, for a while, but there are some who think it could be a shorter period than expected.”
“For now, I can’t tell you. We are waiting for a call from the doctor regarding the symptoms he had and what kind of surgery he needs to have.”
Guardiola expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to have a good season despite Rodri’s absence, saying:
“We didn’t want it. But we will have a good season, I believe in my players. I have to find an answer. Rodri is irreplaceable. It certainly had a huge impact on us. And it happens in football.”
“My job is to find solutions to get the team ready to compete and stay there. I will find an answer.”
