MLB, KBO Legends to Face Off in Seoul, Tokyo
SEOUL, South korea – A series of exhibition games featuring baseball legends from Major League Baseball (MLB), the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), adn Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) is planned for November and december. The event will bring together former stars in Seoul and Tokyo to celebrate what organizers are calling “world Baseball Heritage.”
U.S. Legends Team Leadership
The U.S. Legends team will be led by Luis Alicea, a veteran of 1,341 major league games. Joining him on the coaching staff is Ozzie Smith, the Hall of Fame shortstop nicknamed “The Wizard,” who spent 19 seasons in the majors, earning 13 Gold Gloves, 15 All-Star selections, and a World Series title in 1982.
Star-Studded Roster Expected
Organizers anticipate a strong turnout of former MLB players. more than 50 former big leaguers, including Manny Ramirez, Rick Ankiel, Miguel Tejada, and Jose Contreras, have reportedly expressed interest in participating. The final roster is expected to include several players familiar to Korean baseball fans.
Upcoming Announcement in Seoul
alicea and Ramirez are scheduled to visit seoul in May to unveil the complete roster and hold a press conference. At the conference, they will outline the goals and vision for the series. Alicea and othre U.S. legends also plan to meet with KBO legends to discuss potential collaborations between the two countries’ baseball communities.
KBO Legends team Forming
The korean team will consist of KBO League legends selected through an agreement with the Korea Professional Baseball Retired Players Association. According to organizers, many former KBO stars have expressed enthusiasm for the event.
Event Aims for Charitable Impact
Cube Nest &co and Studio, the Korean organizers of the event, stated that the series aims to go beyond mere exhibition games. They hope to contribute to charitable causes,social initiatives,and the development of youth baseball in Korea and Japan.
