Warner Bros. Discovery Extends French Open Coverage Across Europe

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will continue its live coverage of the Roland-Garros French Open grand slam tennis tournament across Europe until at least 2030, following an extension of its rights agreement. The deal ensures comprehensive French Open coverage for years to come.
The agreement with the French Tennis federation (FFT) means WBD will broadcast the tournament on Eurosport and TNT Sports linear channels across europe, excluding France. TNT Sports will retain exclusive broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The tennis tournament continues to draw large audiences.
Starting in 2026, every court at the Roland-Garros will be available live on WBD’s streaming platform, HBO Max.
WBD holds rights to all four Grand Slam tournaments in Europe. Its Wimbledon rights run through 2027, and its Australian Open contract extends to the 2031 edition.
“The excellent audience figures for Roland-Garros in Europe are a testament to the FFT’s ability to organize an increasingly appealing tournament, and the ability of WBD to promote our tournament to our manny European fans,” said Gilles Moretton, FFT president. “This renewed partnership is a perfect illustration of our growing ambitions on the international stage.”
WBD reported that its coverage of this year’s tournament on Eurosport and TNT Sports, offered in 19 languages, generated over 620 million video views and nearly 30 million social media engagements.
The media company noted double-digit increases in unique video viewers during the first 12 days of the competition in Italy (36%) and the Netherlands (46%), with the United Kingdom (7%) and Germany (8%) also seeing gains.
Warner Bros.Discovery also broadcasts the tournament in the United States on TNT,TBS,and truTV as part of a separate 10-year,$650 million agreement that began this year.
TNT’s U.S. coverage averaged 292,000 viewers during the first week, a 23% increase compared to the tennis Channel’s coverage last year.

The men’s singles final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz drew an average of 5.5 million viewers on France Televisions, marking the broadcaster’s largest audience for the French Open men’s final since 2011.
