A redeveloped play area and a new sports area have been inaugurated in Baden Powell Park.
The intervention,managed by the Capitoline Department of Environmental Protection,has completely renewed the existing play area. The area now features two multi-swing sets, including one with caged seats for younger children, two tower structures with slides and a climbing net, a small house with a slide, and a spring-shaped game. The entire area, spanning over 200 square meters, is paved with anti-trauma rubber.
A new sports area with anti-trauma flooring has also been created. This area is equipped with workout structures including rings and bars for pull-ups, an elliptical machine for training legs and arms, an exercise bike, and benches for abdominal exercises. A street basketball court has been set up next to the fitness area.
According to a city councilor, With the opening of these new and gorgeous play areas, the Baden Powell park will become even more space for sociality and well-being. This intervention is inserted within the extraordinary maintenance contract financed with about 2 million euros with which we have recently created the playful area of Piazza Santa Maria Consolatrice along with those already renewed at the Parco di Aguzzano, at the park in via Castelnuovo in Farfa and the park in via Achille Tedeschi. With a total investment of around 5 million euros, over 100 play areas and about 40 fitness and playground areas are redeveloped or built from scratch in all municipalities sence the beginning of our mandate. Thanks to these interventions, the parks of Rome are becoming more welcoming, inclusive and easily accessible from all age groups. A great work that continues in a widespread way with the aim of creating new spaces of sociality and aggregation, to ensure the right to greenery, play, sport and health in all the neighborhoods of the city.
A local official added, The great teamwork is giving very vital results. Today we inaugurate three new structures inside the Baden Powell park: a play area, a fitness area and a playground… We are making a coordinated effort to guarantee the city, children and teenagers, structures where you can spend time outdoors, play, play sports, be together.
