Introducing the Kia EV4
Kia launched the EV4 earlier this year, positioning it as a compelling entry in the growing electric vehicle market. The vehicle boasts a modern design, featuring LED front and rear lighting, 19-inch alloy wheels, a digital dashboard, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. Interior comfort is enhanced with synthetic leather upholstery, and a cruise control system is standard.
The EV4 is available with a starting price under 35,000 euros.A model equipped with a 1,598 cubic centimeter turbo engine is also offered, alongside a plug-in hybrid variant delivering 268 horsepower.
Battery Durability: A Top priority
Recent testing by kia focused specifically on the longevity and performance of the EV4’s battery. These weren’t just standard tests; the EV4 was subjected too a demanding regimen designed to simulate real-world and extreme conditions.
The testing protocol included a 110,000-kilometer endurance test on European roads, and a grueling 10,000-kilometer run on the legendary Nürburgring circuit. The results, according to Kia, were exceptionally positive.
Remarkable Test Results
Throughout the testing process, the EV4 demonstrated minimal battery wear and maintained consistent efficiency. After 10,000 kilometers of testing, the battery retained an impressive 95% of its initial health, confirming the vehicle’s high endurance capabilities.
Kia projects that the EV4 will maintain at least 70% of its battery capacity after 160,000 kilometers of travel or eight years of active use. this longevity is attributed to the vehicle’s robust battery design and intelligent battery management system, which also incorporates regenerative braking technology.
