About WorldSkills Lyon 2024
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is the 47th edition of the WorldSkills competition – the most dedicated event to education, vocational training, and excellence in trades in the world.
Held every two years and organized by WorldSkills International, WorldSkills Lyon 2024 brings together thousands of young people from all over the world competing for the chance to become the best in the world in their field.
This year, Lyon will host an exceptional event that will bring together 1,400 competitors, pupils, and students under the age of 21, from over 70 countries and regions around the world. Talented young people will compete in 59 sections or crafts, from baking to graphic design technology, welding, robotics, and web technologies, to cosmetics, masonry, and car mechanics. Furthermore, around 250,000 visitors from France and the rest of the world are expected to attend.
Competitors
Competitors in WorldSkills Lyon 2024 are among the most talented young professionals from their countries, having been selected to compete after winning national competitions within WorldSkills member countries. In this event, they must demonstrate their technical and transformational skills in the areas in which they have specialized. Competition trials are fully functional and run over four days, designed to international industry standards. They are offered by experts and companies in the field, and require advanced technical knowledge and skills gained during training to solve them.
Each country that is a member of WorldSkills International can register a maximum of one competitor or, as the case may be, one team in each division (trade). In this year’s edition, Romania will be represented as follows:
