Later, Jacobs confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that Liverpool had “won the race” for Wright, fending off late attempts from Arsenal to hijack the deal. He stated, “Liverpool have won the race for Will Wright after making an improved offer to Salford City. Arsenal tried to hijack to the deal, and initially outbid #LFC. Liverpool eventually able to reach a club-to-club agreement.”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also gave his seal of approval to the Wright deal, confirming the completion of the second part of his medical and detailing the contract agreement. Romano tweeted, “Will Wright completed second part of medical as new Liverpool player from Salford City. contract until June 2028, three year deal… and here we go.”
