Rooney Reveals Vardy Court Case as Her ‘Worst Nightmare’ – Shocking Details Unveiled

November 19, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Entertainment

Coleen Rooney discussed her court case with Rebekah Vardy during an episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. She described the experience as her “worst nightmare.” Rooney felt like she was performing for an audience, as the trial received much public attention.

Rooney is married to former England footballer Wayne Rooney. She accused Vardy, the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, of leaking her private information to the press. In July 2022, a High Court judge ruled that Rooney’s claim was “substantially true.”

During the program, Rooney was asked if she felt scared when she made the social media post that started the feud. She responded, “No, because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did.” She explained that she was exhausted and frustrated with the situation.

Rooney expressed disappointment over how the trial became a joke to some, stating, “No one knew the full story.” Journalist Jane Moore compared the trial to Princess Diana’s relationship with the media, highlighting the significant attention it received.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues to air on ITV1 and ITVX.
