Racing Insights: Your Guide to Today’s Top Contenders
Table of Contents
Get ready for an exciting day of racing with our expert picks for today’s key events. We’ve delved into the form, the track conditions, and the jockey’s touch to bring you the horses most likely to shine.
Race 7 – 3.30pm: TAB HIGHWAY (1200m)
In the TAB Highway, our top selection is 5. Your Blessing. This gelding has been showing consistent improvement and looks perfectly placed to break through for a win today. His recent performances suggest he’s ready to step up, and with the right run, he’s a genuine winning chance.
how to play it: Your Blessing WIN.
race 9 – 4.05pm: ASAHI SUPER DRY WINTER CHALLENGE (1500m)
The ASAHI SUPER DRY Winter Challenge presents a fascinating contest, and we’re leaning towards 1. Robust. This horse was incredibly unlucky in the winter Stakes, finding trouble at crucial moments. The extra 100m today is a definite plus, and he’s drawn slightly better, wich should allow him to get a clearer run. He’s carrying the same weight but faces a similar field, making him hard to beat.
We also have 4. Accredited as a strong contender. He finished third in the same race as Robust and will appreciate the firmer ground, as soft conditions are his limit. While he might have contributed to Robust’s woes in their last encounter, he’s right in the mix.
Don’t discount 2. Mestalla Stadium, who surprised many by leading all the way in the Winter Stakes. Despite a 3kg penalty and an outside gate, he’s capable of rolling forward again and proving tough to catch if he’s in the same mood.
10. Thunderlips ran fourth in that Winter Stakes and could benefit from using Mestalla Stadium to gain a more prominent position early. If he can achieve that, he’s a definite winning chance. How to play it: Robust WIN.
Race 10 – 4.40pm: TOYOTA FORKLIFTS HANDICAP (1300m)
For the TOYOTA FORKLIFTS Handicap, 4. Bunker Hut caught our eye with an outstanding first-up run. He sat wide near the speed and battled on gamely for fourth in a race that favoured swoopers. His consistency last preparation suggests he’s returned in great shape, and barrier one is ideal for his racing style, positioning him as a major player.
6. King Of Roseau broke a long drought with a superb win at this track and distance five weeks ago. He’s trialled well as and should be hard to beat if he maintains that form.
A must for trifecta players is 14. Little Cointreau. He’s placed third in his last four starts and will relish getting back onto firmer ground. He’s unfeasible to leave out of calculations.
Keep an eye on 8. Fully Lit,who could be a significant improver stepping up slightly in distance after a fast-run race last start. His previous runs were acceptable, and if he leads, he could certainly give his rivals a run for their money.
How to play it: Bunker Hut WIN.
