Royal Command Appoints Military Officers to Government Positions

The Royal Gazette website has published an announcement by the Prime Minister’s Office regarding military officers serving as government officials. The announcement states that there is a royal command for military officers to serve in the government in response to His Majesty the King.
Key Appointments
- General Thitichai Thienthong, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, is the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
- Admiral Suwin Chaengyodsuk, Deputy Commander of the Royal Thai Navy, is the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
- General Boontanon, Deputy Commander of the Royal Thai Army, is the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
- Air Marshal General Nonsi Inthasali, Advisor to the National Institute of Defence Studies, is the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Commander-in-Chief Appointments
- Gen. Phana Klaewplodtuk, The Chief of Army Staff (Region 26), is the Commander-in-Chief of the Army.
- Gen. Nattawut Nakhanakorn, Special Advisor to the Army, is the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army.
- Admiral Jiraphon Wongwit, Special Advisor to the Royal Thai Navy (TT 23), is the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy.
- Admiral Chonlathit Nawanukroh, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, is the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy.
- Air Chief Marshal Chainat Phonkit, a special expert of the Royal Thai Air Force, is the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force.
Granting of Military Ranks
The Royal Gazette website has also published an announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the granting of the rank of General to soldiers. The announcement states that there is a Royal Command of His Majesty the King granting the military rank of General, term October 2024, to commissioned officers under the Ministry of Defence who have served without problems in government service.
A total of 588 positions have been granted this rank, which is beneficial to the government.
