Royal ascot witnessed a dramatic turn as Lazzat, a French runner, secured victory in the Queen elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes on Saturday. The win was not without incident, as Lazzat unseated jockey James Doyle shortly after crossing the finish line.Doyle was uninjured as handlers quickly contained the horse.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla presented the trophy to Lazzat’s owners, braving the heat during the ceremony. the royal family’s presence highlighted the event, tho Princess Catherine’s absence was noted. Prince William attended with the king and queen, arriving just before his 43rd birthday.
