King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and members of the British royal family attended the annual Easter Matins Service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on April 5, 2026.
The event marked a return to Windsor for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, who had spent the previous two Easter holidays privately at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk.
The appearance of Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, represented their first public outing of 2026. The Wales family arrived first, walking to the chapel ahead of the other royal members.
Royal Fashion and Coordination
Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte coordinated their looks in muted tones. The Princess of Wales wore a cream jacket and skirt set from Self Portrait, paired with a matching hat, heels, and a sand-colored micro bag.

Princess Charlotte wore a tan-and-brown coat over a blue dress, completed with brown suede ballerina flats.
Prince William coordinated with his sons, as all three wore navy-blue suits, white shirts, light-blue ties, and black shoes.
King Charles III wore a blue striped suit and a white shirt, styled with a silver tie, a silver pocket square, and black shoes. Queen Camilla wore a red coatdress and matching hat, paired with black stockings, black heels, and a black Dior Toujours bag, finished with a diamond brooch.
Attendance and Notable Absences
Other members of the royal family who attended the service included Princess Anne and Prince Edward, who was accompanied by his son, James, Earl of Wessex.
Peter Phillips also attended with his fiancée, Harriet Sperling, and their children, Isla Phillips, Savannah Phillips, and Georgina Sperling.
Several family members were notably absent from the 2026 service. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, along with their husbands, did not attend. This decision was reportedly made with the agreement of King Charles III.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, was also missing from the gathering, despite having made rare appearances at the Easter service in previous years.
The service followed a week of events celebrating Holy Week. While the Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend the prior festivities of the week, they joined the rest of the family for the Sunday Matins Service.
Easter is described as a significant holiday for King Charles III. In the memoir Spare
, Prince Harry wrote that his father always made a big deal about Easter
.
