On what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday, the British royal family gathered in London for a series of commemorative events marking the late monarch’s centenary. King Charles III and Queen Camilla led the tributes, joined by all 11 working members of the royal family in a rare joint appearance that underscored the continuity of the monarchy.

The celebrations began on Monday evening with a private visit to the exhibition “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style” at the King’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace. The King and Queen were accompanied by Lady Sarah Chatto, daughter of Princess Margaret, for the tour of the display showcasing the late Queen’s personal style and public legacy.

Throughout the week, senior royals participated in engagements across London to honor Queen Elizabeth II’s life and service. The Prince and Princess of Wales returned to public duties following their Easter break, joining other working members of the family at various events. A Buckingham Palace reception brought together generations of the House of Windsor, including the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, who made a rare joint appearance as first cousins of the late Queen.

A new official photograph released to mark the occasion captured all 11 working royals together, providing a visual record of the family’s unity during the commemorations. The image, described as a rare group portrait, was taken amid the series of events held in tribute to Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, whose actual birthday falls on April 21.

The centenary observances highlighted both the personal legacy of Queen Elizabeth II and the institution she served for over seven decades. By bringing together multiple generations of working royals in public engagements, the events emphasized the ongoing role of the monarchy in national life while reflecting on the historical significance of her reign.
