Royal Rift: Kate’s Recovery Video Sparks Controversy and Leaves Camilla Looking Unimpressed
Kate’s Recovery Video Sparks Controversy Within the Royal Family
To celebrate her completion of chemotherapy, Princess Kate of Wales released a heartwarming three-minute family video showcasing the “ordinary yet warm” life of her family of five.
Although the video was praised by royal fans, especially Kate and her husband William, who rarely showed the sweet love between husband and wife, it was still criticized by some members of the royal family.

Richard Eden, a senior writer for the Daily Mail, reported that some people in the royal family did not appreciate the video, with one of Queen Camilla’s friends stating, ”It is no coincidence that the Middletons appear in the film instead of the king and queen. I can assure you that unless hell freezes over, Charles and Camilla will never be photographed kissing on the beach like William and Catherine. This is clearly not in line with royal style.”
The video shows Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, playing cards with their three grandchildren at what appears to be Anmer Hall, William and Kate’s holiday home on the Sandringham estate. However, King Charles and Queen Camilla are not featured in the video.

Another insider criticized the video, saying, “They lie together, hug and kiss, they’re not sentimental teenagers. It feels deliberate. It’s something Meghan would do. The time, energy and money that went into making the video could have been better spent elsewhere. Why not visit other women going through cancer treatment? Diana would have done that.”
However, most netizens defended Kate and William, saying that the video was a heartwarming way to celebrate Kate’s recovery and that the royal family should adapt to changing times.

One commenter said, “You need to notice that the world has changed, the royal family has also changed, and they don’t need to be so high and mighty anymore.”
Another commenter added, “Many people have been cruel enough to this family, and now even their desire to express joy has to be restricted. It’s really unfair.”
