RTÉ Short Story Competition 2024: Winner Revealed – Discover the Champion!
Mattie Brennan won the RTÉ Short Story Competition 2024 with his story, Dead Bait. The judges, Claire Kilroy, Neil Hegarty, and Kathleen MacMahon, praised it for its storytelling and detail.
Brennan received €5,000 for his first place finish. The second prize of €4,000 went to Divination by Stephen O’Reilly. The Other Órla by Emer O’Toole claimed third prize, winning €3,000. Seven runners-up each received €250.
The awards were announced during an RTÉ Radio 1 Arena special event hosted by Sean Rocks at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire.
