RTÉ Staff to Receive €1k Voucher Amid Pay Talks
RTÉ Employees to Receive $1,000 Voucher Amid Ongoing Pay Talks
Dublin, Ireland – RTÉ employees will receive a non-taxable voucher worth up to $1,000 as negotiations for a new pay agreement continue into 2025.
The interim arrangement was agreed upon by RTÉ management and the trade Union Group (TUG) following a conciliation conference wiht the internal Industrial Relations Tribunal (IRT).
“In light of this, an interim arrangement has been agreed by RTÉ and the TUG which will see a non-taxable voucher of up to €1,000 being provided to RTÉ employees who are in employment with RTÉ on 31st December 2024, on the same basis as previously,” the joint statement read.
This comes after the TUG lodged a pay claim in October, seeking a flat rate increase of $1,650 plus 6%. The unions had hoped to have the new agreement in place by the end of November.
The interim voucher will be provided to employees who are still with RTÉ on December 31, 2024, and will remain in effect until April 30, 2025, when a new collective pay agreement is expected to be finalized.
“Vouchers will issue as early as possible in the New Year following a tender process and more details will follow in due course,” RTÉ and the TUG said.
This is not the first time RTÉ employees have received such vouchers. The last pay agreement, reached in November 2022, included a 6% increase over two years, along with non-taxable vouchers of $1,100 in early 2023 and $550 in January 2024.
