Marty Whelan, a popular RTE presenter, enjoyed a festive evening with his wife, Maria. The couple attended the opening night of “Peter Pan” at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin. They looked cheerful as they posed for photos outside the theatre.
Marty, 68, held a brochure for the show and smiled broadly, while Maria wore a stylish all-white outfit featuring white pants, a jumper, and a knit scarf.
This festive season will be special for the couple as they prepare to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in August 2025. Additionally, Marty’s daughter Jessica recently welcomed a baby girl named Lily Nora, marking Marty’s first Christmas as a grandfather.
Marty expressed his excitement about the holiday season, saying, “We love Christmas, and we always decorate our house and tree.” He emphasized the importance of family gatherings, especially with their new granddaughter.
The opening night of “Peter Pan” also featured other notable attendees such as Baz Ashmawy and Lottie Ryan.
In other news, Marty is interested in hosting the Irish version of the BBC game show “Traitors.” He is enthusiastic about the opportunity, knowing it requires competitors who can “lie and connive” for a €50,000 prize. Marty stated, “I am a very enthusiastic fella. I love radio but would love to do TV again.”
Overall, it was a joyful night for Marty and Maria, filled with festive spirit and family celebration.
