Andrei Rublev Suffers Psychological Breakdown at Paris-Bercy
Andrei Rublev experienced a major psychological breakdown on Court 1 at the Accor Arena in Paris during his second-round match against Francisco Cerundro at the Rolex Paris Masters.
Rublev dominated both sets, leading 5-2 in the first and 4-2 in the second. However, he lost his tennis rhythm in both sets, ultimately losing the match in a closely contested 2.5-hour battle (7-6, 7-6).
The pressure got the better of him, causing intense frustration. In an attempt to release his emotions, Rublev tried to hit his knee with his racket, a move that has become all too familiar for the tennis star (see video below).
This outburst was reminiscent of a similar incident in the past, where Rublev also hurt his knee. Additionally, he was seen throwing a bottle and yelling “Shut up!” after missing a service return (see video below).
