In 1932, the Varel sports club hosted its first international match against Essex London.

​ During World War II, the sports club ⁣faced challenges. after the war, ⁢the SC was integrated⁢ into the TuS Varel association under British occupation. Recognizing the presence of rugby in Varel,the British organized numerous games against their troops.

Post-War⁤ Achievements

⁢ The club maintained a high level of skill, winning the ⁢north mark in 1947/48. In 1959,‌ the team made its first trip to England, playing Rufc Norton – Malton. In the early 1970s, SC Varel contended for promotion to the Bundesliga but faced strong competition from Hanover teams.
