Bonghwa-gun has been selected for the ‘2025 Rural Area Living Condition Improvement Competition’ jointly hosted by the Presidential Committee on Local Governments and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing a total of 2.7 billion won in national funds.
The ‘Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project’ aims to improve living conditions closely related to residents’ lives, such as housing, safety, and hygiene, in the areas of Dochon 1-ri and Buncheon 2-ri. The project will invest a total of 3.9 billion won, including 2.7 billion won from the national budget and 1.2 billion won from the local government.
Bonghwa County has been preparing thoroughly for the new public offering project in 2025 by holding briefing sessions for residents and forming village promotion committees since February of this year. The county’s efforts have paid off, with the selection of two districts through a central face-to-face evaluation.
With this public offering selection, Bonghwa-gun will secure a total project cost of KRW 3.9 billion over four years from 2025 to 2028 to promote projects such as improving old houses, improving village roads, ensuring safety, and strengthening residents’ capabilities in Saje Village in Dochon 1-ri and Neungho Village in Buncheon 2-ri.
Park Hyeon-guk, the governor of Bonghwa County, expressed his expectations for the project, stating, “We expect that this public offering will revitalize the areas of Dochon 1-ri and Buncheon 2-ri by improving the quality of life for residents.” He added, “We will create a safe and happy village for residents by improving infrastructure such as living, sanitation, and safety and strengthening residents’ capabilities through housing maintenance projects.”
Looking ahead, Governor Park emphasized the county’s commitment to improving the quality of life of residents, stating, “In the future, we will do our best to improve the quality of life of residents by discovering vulnerable villages and create a pleasant and safe village where it is good to live.”
