Russell Brand Faces Additional Sex Offense charges

New Charges Filed Against Comedian
British comedian and actor Russell Brand has been charged with two additional sex offenses - a new count of rape and another of sexual assault – according to a statement from United Kingdom police released on Tuesday.
Thes charges relate to two additional women, building on an existing examination. Brand, 50, is already facing five charges made in April involving four women, including two counts of rape, one of indecent assault, and two of sexual assault.
Court Appearances Scheduled
Brand is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on January 20 regarding the new charges.A trial concerning the earlier charges is set to begin at Southwark Crown Court, also in London, on June 16.
In May, Brand pleaded not guilty to the initial charges.
