Russell Grabs Pole Position in Montreal Thriller

George Russell secured the pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal after a dramatic qualifying session. he outperformed rival Max Verstappen by a mere 0.160 seconds to clinch the top spot. This marks Russell’s second consecutive year starting on pole at this track.
oscar Piastri, the championship leader, will start third. Lando Norris, though, faces a disappointing start from seventh place due to errors during his qualifying runs. Kimi antonelli finished fourth, followed by lewis Hamilton of Ferrari.
Verstappen, who collided with Russell in the previous race in Spain, will start alongside him on the front row. Verstappen is currently one penalty point away from a race ban.
“We are mates so we are all good,” Russell said when asked about starting next to Verstappen. “I have got a few more points on my license to play with,so let’s see.”
Norris’s qualifying struggles continued as he made a mistake on his initial Q1 run, forcing him to abandon the final chicane.
