Russia Accuses Ukraine of Oil Pipeline Attack; Kyiv Denies

Budanov did not identify the specific partners who made the request, nor did he clarify whether the Ukrainian government has agreed to modify its tactical approach toward Russian energy targets.

Broader Geopolitical Tensions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy linked the conflict in Ukraine to broader instability in the Middle East. On April 5, 2026, Zelenskyy accused Moscow of providing intelligence data to Iran, claiming this cooperation resulted in approximately 50 objects being hit in Israel. Kyiv stated the suspension followed a Russian attack on pumping installations.

On February 12, 2026, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that a Russian attack on the Ukrainian branch of the Soviet-built Druzhba pipeline had halted the transit of Russian oil to Eastern Europe.
