According to a statement from state prosecutors, ‍the doctors allegedly falsified documents regarding⁢ the ⁤infertility of buyers and genetic parents. They are accused ⁢of using⁢ assisted‌ reproductive technologies to cultivate embryos and arrange‌ the birth ⁢of ⁢children for sale ⁢abroad.

The investigation centers on private clinics in Vladivostok. Details about the destination countries of the trafficked‍ children and the identities⁣ of surrogate mothers have ⁤not been released.
