Russia Kills Drone Attacker Targeting Military Site

A man allegedly preparing a drone attack on a Russian military facility was killed Friday, according ‍to Russia’s National‍ Guard. The incident occurred in the ⁢Ryazan region,‍ southeast ‌of Moscow.

The⁢ National Guard ⁣stated‍ the ⁣man was detected “preparing⁣ a terrorist attack‍ using ⁤a drone.” They added,”During ⁣the arrest,the criminal gave ⁣armed resistance and was neutralized.” The agency released surveillance footage​ showing a hooded individual attempting​ to launch a drone in‍ a field⁢ before⁤ being pursued by armed officers.

This incident ⁢follows‌ coordinated drone attacks by Ukraine⁤ earlier in the week, ⁣wich damaged military ‌planes at ⁣Russian airbases. These Ukrainian drone strikes involved small,remote-operated drones smuggled into ⁤Russia.

the drones, concealed ⁤in ​wooden cabins ​on⁤ trucks, were transported close to the airbases and ‍launched together.
