Moscow – Russia’s Defense Minister Andrey Belousov issued a stark warning on monday, stating that a direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO could erupt within the next decade. Speaking at a high-level defense meeting chaired by President Vladimir Putin,Belousov emphasized the need for Russia to be fully prepared for such a scenario.
Belousov highlighted the ongoing “hard struggle” with the West, citing Russia’s military operations in Ukraine and elsewhere this year. he expressed concern over the escalating tensions between Moscow and the United States and its allies, warning that the situation is worsening.
“In these conditions, one of the main tasks of the Russian Ministry of Defense is to ensure full readiness for any progress of the situation in the medium term,” Belousov declared. “This includes the possibility of a military conflict with NATO in Europe in the next decade.”
