russian Forces Tighten Grip on ‌Key Ukrainian City

Ukrainian Soldier Warns of Imminent Encirclement

Fierce ⁤fighting continues‍ in the eastern Ukrainian city ⁢of Kurakhovo, with Russian forces making important territorial gains. According to a Ukrainian soldier using the call sign “Mutchny,” Russian troops now fully control the‍ residential areas of the city, leaving only the industrial zone of the Kurakhovo thermal Power Plant under ukrainian control.

“Leaving this zone is ‍only possible if the enemy captures the settlement of Dachne, located near the Kurakhovo-Zaporizhzhia highway,” Mutchny wrote on social media. “Today,‌ the ‌enemy is attacking in that direction and ⁤trying to establish a foothold‍ in the outskirts.”

Mutchny warns that the situation is dire, with Russian forces also advancing on the village of Zelenivka, located southwest of Kurakhovo. He notes that Zelenivka ‍is just over three kilometers from the highway leading to Zaporizhzhia.

“If the Russians secure Zelenivka,‌ the ‘Kurakhovo cauldron’ will be complete very soon,” Mutchny stated.

This latest‍ development follows reports that Russian troops have captured ⁣the ⁤city council building in western Kurakhovo‌ and raised the Russian flag. This⁢ information was confirmed by Vladimir Rogov, head of the commission on sovereignty, patriotic projects, and veterans’ support ‍for the Russian Public Chamber.

The battle for Kurakhovo is part of ⁤a larger Russian offensive in the Donetsk region, aimed at‍ capturing the entire Donbas region. The outcome of this battle could ‌have ⁣significant implications ⁤for the course of the war.

Tightening Noose: Expert Weighs In on Russian Advance in Kurakhovo

NewsDirectory3.com Exclusive Interview

With Russian forces tightening their grip ‍on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kurakhovo, we spoke to military analyst‌ Dr. Anya Petrova for her expert insight on the strategic implications of this ⁣development.

ND3: Dr. Petrova,⁤ Ukrainian soldier “Mutchny” describes a dire situation in ⁣Kurakhovo, warning of an imminent encirclement. What are the potential consequences if⁢ Russia manages to fully capture the city?

Dr. Petrova: The capture of Kurakhovo would ⁤be a notable strategic ⁢victory for Russia. It would solidify their control over the western approach to Donetsk city, a key objective in their campaign to capture the entire Donbas region.

ND3: ⁤ Mutchny mentions the⁣ village of Zelenivka as ‍a crucial point in this battle. Why is its ‌control so critically important for both sides?

Dr. Petrova: Zelenivka sits on a key road leading to Zaporizhzhia. Russian capture of⁢ the village would‌ effectively cut off Ukrainian supply lines and reinforce their encirclement of Kurakhovo. Conversely, Ukraine must hold ⁤Zelenivka to maintain a crucial escape route and prevent a complete encirclement.

ND3: Beyond the immediate strategic⁤ impact, what broader ‌implications could⁣ the fall of⁤ Kurakhovo have on the war?

Dr. Petrova: The loss of Kurakhovo would⁣ be a blow to ‌Ukrainian morale and could embolden Russia to intensify its offensive in⁢ the region. It would‍ also highlight the challenges Ukraine faces in defending its territory against Russia’s sustained assault. The international community would likely increase pressure⁣ on Russia while also seeking to provide Ukraine with ⁣further support.

ND3: Thank you for⁢ yoru insights, dr. Petrova.
