Russia Unveils ⁣’kalinka’ System, Claims Ability to Detect‍ and ‍Target Starlink Terminals in Ukraine

Moscow – Amidst the ongoing conflict in ukraine,‍ Russia ⁢has announced ⁢the growth ⁤of a new system called “Kalinka” designed to detect and locate⁣ signals emitted⁣ by ⁤satellite communication terminals like Starlink. Developed by the Centre ⁤for Unmanned Systems and ⁢Technologies (CBST), Kalinka is touted as a significant advancement in Russia’s electronic warfare capabilities.

Andrey Bezrukov, chairman⁢ of the CBST, stated that the system ⁣leverages the⁢ basic principles of radio signal ⁢transmission, making it effective ⁢against various types of Starlink terminals, including the military-grade ⁢Starshield version.

“This new system can help quickly detect ⁤and target Starlink terminals because the basic principles of radio signal transmission haven’t changed since the⁢ invention of radio,” Bezrukov explained.

He emphasized that even the enhanced security features of Starshield wouldn’t be able to conceal these terminals from Kalinka’s detection ⁤capabilities.

The ⁤system’s⁣ range is influenced by factors⁣ such as the⁢ terrain in the search area and the presence of other electronic systems used by the enemy.⁣ Bezrukov indicated that mass production of Kalinka would be‍ steadfast by the demands of Russian forces operating in the conflict zone.

Since the escalation of⁢ the conflict in February 2022, the united States⁣ has provided Ukraine with a substantial number of Starlink terminals.⁤ These terminals have⁢ played a crucial role ⁤in enabling Ukrainian forces to coordinate military operations and maintain communication with unmanned aerial ⁣and maritime vehicles.

However, ⁣Russia has accused ⁣Ukraine of using Starlink-enabled drones ⁣for attacks on civilian infrastructure ⁤within Russian territory, raising concerns about the potential ⁢for escalation.

The introduction of Kalinka marks a new ‍chapter in the technological arms race surrounding the conflict in Ukraine, with both sides vying for dominance in the realm of satellite communications and electronic warfare.

Russia ⁢Claims New ‘Kalinka’ System Can Detect and‍ Target Starlink Terminals

Moscow – In an escalation of the technological arms race ‍surrounding the Ukraine conflict, Russia ‍has unveiled a new system dubbed “Kalinka” purportedly capable of detecting and targeting Starlink satellite interaction⁤ terminals. Developed by the Centre for Unmanned Systems and Technologies (CBST), the system leverages the essential principles of radio signal transmission, according to Andrey⁤ Bezrukov, chairman of the CBST.

Bezrukov claims that Kalinka can effectively locate various Starlink terminals, ⁣including the military-grade⁤ Starshield⁣ version, regardless of its enhanced security features.

“This new system can help quickly detect and target⁤ Starlink terminals because the basic principles of radio⁢ signal transmission haven’t changed sence the invention of radio,” Bezrukov⁢ explained.

While the system’s range is ‍subject to factors like terrain and the presence of other electronic systems, Bezrukov stated that mass production would be expedited to meet the demands of Russian forces in Ukraine.

Since the conflict’s intensification in Febuary 2022, the United States has provided Ukraine with a meaningful number of Starlink terminals. Thes terminals have proven crucial ⁤for Ukrainian forces to coordinate military operations and ‍maintain communication with unmanned aerial and maritime vehicles.

However, ⁢Russia has accused ⁤Ukraine of using Starlink-enabled drones for attacks on civilian infrastructure within its territory. This accusation has raised concerns about potential escalation. The advent of Kalinka signifies a new chapter in the ongoing technological battle within the Ukrainian conflict, with both sides vying for supremacy in satellite ⁣communications and electronic warfare.
