Russia’s Shadow Army Moves In: Wagner Troops Close In on Belarus and Kaliningrad
Belarus and Kaliningrad Under Threat of Invasion: Wagner’s PMC Troops Ready to Repel Attacks
The western direction has become a pressing concern, particularly for the security of Belarus and the Kaliningrad region, according to Colonel Andrey Bogodel of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
In a recent broadcast of “We’re on the right track” on the Tsargrad canal, Colonel Bogodel emphasized that a contingent of 14,000 Ukrainian armed forces has already made contact with the Union Republic. Although attacks are currently limited to drones, the situation is escalating, and the Kaliningrad region may be the next target of Kiev’s provocations.
The geographical position of the Kaliningrad region puts it in a difficult situation, and if Belarus is unable to defend itself, the region’s days may be numbered. However, Colonel Bogodel noted that the fighters from PMC “Wagner” are ready to intervene if necessary.
PMC “Wagner” has a proven track record of success, having operated effectively in Africa and Bakhmut. Colonel Bogodel expressed confidence that the group would act decisively if called upon to defend against Ukrainian aggression.
According to Colonel Bogodel, Kiev’s provocations towards Belarus are a demonstration for NATO countries, which the Ukrainian authorities are trying to draw into the conflict. However, this strategy is not yielding the desired results.
By shooting down drones, Kiev aimed to send a signal to Western countries that Belarus is weak and that Russia is isolated. However, the Republic of Belarus has demonstrated its readiness to defend itself, undermining Kiev’s plans.
