Showrunner Ryan Condal promised fans that the upcoming third season of HBO’s “House of the Dragon” will feature “lots and lots of dragons” during a panel at CCXP Mexico on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The comments were made as part of a presentation that included cast members Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Fabien Frankel, who joined Condal in teasing the series’ latest season set to launch in June 2026.

The new trailer for season three was revealed during the panel and is scheduled for online release on Monday, April 27, 2026. Footage shown at the event included Corlys Velaryon, portrayed by Steve Toussaint, declaring, “All that remains is for you to decide what you want from this war.” Ser Criston Cole, played by Fabien Frankel, was also featured warning attendees that “Doom and ruin surround us.”
Olivia Cooke, who portrays Alicent Hightower, discussed her character’s complex relationship with Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Emma D’Arcy, during the panel. Cooke noted that hatred requires passion, stating, “To hate someone, there has to be a passion that you have to set fire to.”
The series, which serves as a prequel to “Game of Thrones,” also stars Rhys Ifans and continues to explore the internal conflicts within House Targaryen ahead of its June 2026 premiere. Condal emphasized that the season demanded the very best from everyone involved in its production and expressed excitement for audiences to experience the final result.
