Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has identified two Premier League midfielders as his preferred targets to replace Casemiro this summer, according to his comments on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast.
Giggs stated that he likes Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton as the two midfield options he would target to reinforce Manchester United’s central midfield department. He emphasized the need for a left-footed presence in midfield, noting that both players fit that requirement.
The 52-year-old former United winger acknowledged that he has not seen much of Carlos Baleba and therefore cannot comment on the Brighton midfielder, reinforcing that his focus remains on Anderson and Wharton as viable options for the club.
Casemiro is set to leave Old Trafford after announcing his exit in January, with his contract expiring at the end of June. His departure, combined with uncertainty over Manuel Ugarte’s future at the club, has created a clear need for midfield reinforcements.
