Ryan Reynolds and Free Guy Writer Bring Back Iconic 82-Year-Old Cartoon Hero in Exciting New Movie
Ryan Reynolds is taking on a new project following the success of Deadpool & Wolverine. He will work with Matt Lieberman, the writer of Free Guy, to bring back the classic cartoon character, Mighty Mouse. This animated movie will be produced by Paramount Animation under Reynolds’ company, Maximum Effort.
Mighty Mouse first appeared in 1942. The character became known through various shows, including The Mouse of Tomorrow and Mighty Mouse Playhouse. Despite attempts to revive him in the past, including a project by the writers of The Meg, the character has not made a successful return until now.
In addition to Mighty Mouse, Reynolds has several other projects with Paramount, including Boy Band, a comedy about a music group reunion, and Starter Villain, based on John Scalzi’s novel. There is also an adaptation of the Eloise book series in development.
Deadpool & Wolverine has become Reynolds’ highest-grossing film, earning over $1.3 billion globally. The film is the most successful R-rated movie and ranks as one of the top superhero films. Reynolds may continue his involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with possible roles in upcoming Avengers films.
Free Guy and Deadpool & Wolverine are available for streaming on Disney+.
