Paarl royals Add Bethell, Hain for SA20 League Season

The Paarl Royals, owned by Royals Sports Group, have announced the signing of English all-rounder Jacob Bethell and batter Sam hain for the upcoming SA20 League season. The team is looking to bolster its roster for the SA20 2025 tournament.
Bethell and Hain join fellow Englishmen Joe Root and dinesh Karthik,who were announced as additions to the Paarl Royals squad last month.The franchise hopes the new signings will improve their chances in the SA20 League.
both bethell and Hain have been performing well in the Hundred, a professional cricket competition in England and Wales. Their recent form has made them valuable additions to the Royals’ squad.
Bethell, who was raised in Barbados, secured a sports scholarship to Rugby School in Warwickshire at 13.He played as an opener for the england Men’s U19 team that reached the finals of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in 2022. He has played in 38 T20s, amassing 676 runs with a strike rate exceeding 140.
Hain, born in Hong Kong, spent his early years in Australia before moving to England. He had a strong 2022 season, scoring over 1,000 runs. Hain has played in 155 T20 matches, scoring over 4,500 runs at a strike rate of 133.95.
Kumar Sangakkara, Royals’ director of cricket, welcomed the two players. He said Bethell’s explosive style and Hain’s hard-hitting ability will benefit the team in the SA20 League.
“Both Jacob (Bethell) and Sam (Hain) are highly rated individuals as their recent performances have shown and will add to the depth of our squad,” Sangakkara said.
