LAS VEGAS — The ​Phoenix Mercury, led by Satou Sabally’s 22 points and nine rebounds, defeated the ⁤Las Vegas Aces 76-70 on Sunday. Alyssa Thomas contributed 14⁢ points and a game-high 13 assists ⁤in the Commissioner’s Cup matchup. The Aces were playing‌ without their MVP, A’ja wilson, who is sidelined with⁢ a concussion.

Sami Whitcomb provided a spark off the bench for Phoenix, scoring 18 points. Her fourth 3-pointer proved crucial,answering a basket from Las Vegas’ ⁢Jewell Loyd late in ⁣the⁢ fourth quarter. Kahleah Copper ⁢made her ⁣season debut for the Mercury,adding ‌11 points after recovering from a preseason knee injury.This strong team performance and WNBA analysis helped ‍Phoenix secure ⁣the win.
